At Hogwarts, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are in their fourth year. Harry Potter wakes up at the Weasleys’ house after experiencing a bizarre dream about the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters, and they are about to go for the 422nd Quidditch World Cup. Death Eaters attack the camp following the contest. Later, the three arrive at Hogwarts, where they learn that the magical school will be staging the Triwizard Tournament, in which one wizard from each rival school and Hogwarts will participate in three deadly tasks. The rules will be announced when the competing schools of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang arrive. Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody, meantime, arrives at Hogwarts. Anyone above the age of seventeen who is interested must write their name in the Goblet of Fire, and the winners will be the Champions of their respective schools. The Goblet of Fire creates three champions’ names: Cedric Diggory of Hogwarts, Viktor Krum of Durmstrang, and Fleur Delacour of Beauxbatons, and then the goblet produces a fourth, Harry Potter, despite the fact that he is an under-age fourth year who never competed.
The Tournament starts with the first event, in which each of the four champions must combat a dragon in order to collect a golden egg. He flies out of the arena after casting the Accio spell to summon his broom. The dragon breaks free from its shackles and pursues Harry through the grounds of Hogwarts. During the second job, Harry is led by a mermaid to a location where Ron, Hermione, Cho Chang, and Fleur’s sister have been bound. Cedric rescues Cho Chang, while Victor, the Durmstrang champion, abducts Hermione. Because Fleur’s sister did not show up, Harry takes both Ron and her.
The third duty has finally arrived. The Triwizard Cup has been placed in the midst of a massive maze. The challenge is won by the first person to touch the cup. Because Harry and Cedric are placed first and second in the previous challenge, Dumbledore allows them to be brought into the woods first. At the same time, Cedric and Harry seize the cup. The cup, which is actually a portkey, transports the two to a cemetery, where Wormtail appears as Voldemort in disguise. Moody enchanted Krum and put his name in the Goblet of Fire, Harry realizes. Dumbledore, Snape, and McGonagall storm into the room just as Moody is about to kill Harry and save him. Dumbledore convinces Moody that he is a fraud and that the real Moody is imprisoned in a chest. The imposter quickly transforms from Moody’s appearance to his own, Barty Crouch Jr, a Death Eater working for Voldemort. The tournament is over, and the other teams left.
